We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week. The kids learned all about the Pilgrims and their journey to the new land. In these photos they are working with partners to make their page for our Thanksgiving book. They worked in groups and made pumpkin bread and corn bread. This was a great way for the kids to see how heat changes things. They also made butter as a class. This helped them to understand a little more about how much harder the pilgrim life was than ours. We had so much fun!
Our class got to visit the computer lab today and try out our new reading program. The kids loved it. :)
Our class will visit the book fair tomorrow at 2:00. There will also be a family night on Thursday night. Please remember that checks will not be accepted.
This week your children worked extremely hard taking the GATES reading test, and the ITBS math test. We started reading groups this week also. These photos were taken during our Daily 5 (station time), and our lesson about wind. It was a wonderful week!
Reminder: We will visit the library tomorrow. Please remind your child to bring their library book to school with them in the morning.
